4.5 hot rocker stars! This was a great book and I look forward to reading the others in the series. Nic Rayne is not your average rocker, there is so much more and I love how he and Harper find their common ground.Tags : Always Rayne (The Always Sometimes Never Series Book 1) - Kindle edition by Sierra Avalon, Karen M. Always Rayne The Always Sometimes Never Series Book 1 edition by Sierra Avalon Karen M Bryson Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
This was just the book I needed for a light mid summer read. I liked the characters right from the beginning. I was a little surprised that despite the raunchy sex and sex talk, the story was, I suppose, an accurate depiction of the lifestyle of a rock band and I still liked the story. I will definitely read the rest of the series when available.
I love how he went from a man whore to just her. Having Nic being highly intelligent was brilliant and something I haven't read in any rock star novels, I love that! My only complaint and it's a small one is that the rest of the books aren't released yet, I thought they were. I hope we get to see more of the alpha Nic and Shakes (love the nickname), I hope we get to see a HEA and then some. They're a great couple.
It was nice to read what is the typical rock romance that wasn't all unicorns and sunshine.
I wish it were longer and the characters a little more fleshed out, but only because I enjoyed the story.
If it had been a hundred pages longer, I probably would want 200. So it's all good.
Far better to want more of the story than just be glad it ended)
I've had this ebook for a while and ignored it but I'm glad I finally read it. It's cute and sweet as well as being funny in places. It's not the hardcore of the olivia cunning and it was a bit strange in spots (the blowjob in the backseat was odd) but if you can invoke your suspension of disbelief for a few hours, it's got a good story with enough angst to keep a reader engaged. I wished the hero coulda kept it in his pants a bit better but I found myself cheering this couple on toward the middle.
This was a good story. I did like it and it kept me entertained. As for the f*#k word, yea definitely not as much as I was expecting, actually I was a little disappointed in that aspect, was expecting a more raw, alpha male kind of story, even though Nick was a manwhore, he was a pretty tame guy. All in all it was a pretty clean story I would recommend for 17+. No real need for the so called warning.
Harper works for this start up company which is struggling. She gets pushed in to interviewing a movie star/rockstar Nic Rayne. Harper does not have a good opinion about him and he lives up to the rumors she has heard. His other band members are no better than him and Raven who has grown up with them all reveals what she is to the band. Harper has a best friend Brooke who is totally opposite to Harper. She just finished rehab and Harper is worried about her staying sober. Harper has been dumped by her douche boyfriend and is very inexperienced. A nice story not too much angst and the sex is not very descriptive and excessive
This was a fast KINDLE read, with well thought out dialogue and character traits.
It's been a long time since I have read a romance novel. Not since the days of Jackie Collins.
Sierra (hmmm) pulled me right into the flow, it might have had a lot to do with the rock star and the magazine writer... bringing back memories of my youth. But once I became involved with the story, and got to know the characters, I loved the story.
Okay, so i am a guy, and this was romance... but so what? It had heart!
Loved Harper, and damn, the character was well fleshed, right down to the name, catchy for a writer if ever I read one.
Then there was Mr. Rock and Roll... Nic, surprised me with.... no no no, I wont tell you.
Sierra Avalon spins a tale choc full of laughter, smiles... and yes,,, steamy love scenes.
Maybe there's something to this romance thing after all, at least I can say, I loved this writer and the book.
Nic Rayne was everyone's idea of a successful rockstar, rich, arrogant, manwhore, short a few brain cells. Some of that was true. However, he was SMART and smart enough to know he was more than what everyone thought of him and smart enough to want more from his life and in his life than a girl in his bed every night. He wanted different. He wanted special. In walks Miss Different. Harper Leigh. Think sexy librarian but she doesn't see the sexy part. Just like her namesake, Harper is a writer...smart too. She's smart enough to realize her world and Nic's just don't jive. She doesn't fit in his universe let alone his world. Maybe that is why he likes her, wants her. She is his 'different'. And what Nic wants Nic gets.
"Always Rayne" was a quick, refreshing rockstar romance. It was a nice change to see a rockstar portrayed with brains. The story was easily read in a few hours and not so angsty that you were biting your nails or crying into your pillow with the emotions in the story. I have not read anything by Sierra Avalon before but look forward to her others books that tell Brooke and Raven's tales.
